Smoke Break
Sometimes things in life just line up perfectly. I had an idea for a no-dialogue short film where a Brooklyn-based photographer goes up to his rooftop for a smoke break, only to be captivated by a dancer nearby. I went up to my rooftop the next day to scope out the scene so I could storyboard effectively.
I look to my left and see someone dancing freely on her rooftop, just a block away. I can’t make this up. I yelled over to her and asked if she’d be open to acting in a short film. We exchanged numbers and met for coffee. The result of that is what you see here. New York City works in mysterious ways.
